The All Progressives Congress campaign council has called on Peter Obi to withdraw from the 2027 presidential contest, citing debt it says was incurred in Anambra State while he was governor, according to Punch Newspapers.
Punch Newspapers reports that the council wants Obi to honour a promise to resign, framing the demand around his record in Anambra. The same call was carried by TheCable, which reported that the APC campaign council asked Obi to quit the 2027 race over what it described as debt from his time in charge of the state.
THISDAYLIVE reported that the APC campaign council said Obi has no place to hide over what it called his poor Anambra record. The Guardian also reported that the council challenged Obi over claims about Anambra's debt.
